Is swearing in prime time TV out of control? Or have people just forgotten how to use the "off" button?
So the politicians in Canberra are going to have an inquiry into swearing in the media - mainly TV.
What a forking farce! Can there be more vigorous swearers than politicians?
Trust me, our elected leaders would make a bricky blush when they are in private conversation.
But back to the issue.
Is there too much swearing on TV too early in the evening?
The latest target of this "I'm offended so it must be stopped" push is a TV chef called Gordon Ramsay who does a show on 9 at 8.30pm.
His liberal use of the words 'f**k', 'f**king' and 'f**ked' seems to have pissed a few viewers off.
Ever heard of the OFF button people?
Curiously, the show rates its tits off, which is - to me - the best indicator of 'acceptable public standards'.
Let's face it, if it was so offensive, no-one would watch it.
So the question is: Is 8.30pm too early for vigorous swearing. You know, the kind you hear in a Primary school playground these days.
Over to you......
