It's funny, this time 1 year again, this site came online for the first time as a tribute to the Spoonman who had recently finished his night show and 1 year later, the site is coming back online again, but for an entirely different reason.
I'll now let you all know what's been happening since Wednesday 18th November when this site was last online. When I arrived home from school on that day, all my sites were off the air, when I went to investigate, the web host had cancelled my free web account, claiming a breach of terms of service for the account. Their policy was to not warn you and also to not explain which terms you had broken, they just delete everything and cut ties instantly! Very thankfully I had a backup copy of most of my sites including this one from October 11th, so I only lost about 1 month of forum posts, articles, comments and user accounts.
The other day, I figured out why the account had been cancelled and I've written an explanation on my personal blog at http://blog.andrewtechhelp.com/, but here's the quick version - the site was spammed and was being spammed behind my back for 9 months with comments to adult material due to a small loophole in the photo gallery and the webhost thought I obviously wanted that stuff there and therefore removed it. The loophole has been closed thankfully and therefore this shouldn't happen again. I've also spent the last day or so upgrading the website, so there's new functionality in the forums and more commenting options, hopefully you will find these to your benefit.
So the site is back online now, and we're not missing much thanks to the backup. Currently I'm hosting this on my personal website which I pay for, in a subdirectory, but in the near future we may be able to get some server space for this site properly, but when that does happen, it will occur with minimal disruption to the site.
Also I thought I should let you know that extremely valued member of the ATFS and Spoony Show 'The Bryan "Odie" Madigan' is leaving the M's for a spot on Sea FM on the Sunshine Coast in Sunny QLD on January 4th. We all wish him the best of luck and thank him for his service at the M's keeping the DJ, paneling and producing seats occupied throughout 2009 and of course for all the great stuff during The Spoonman Show days :)
Spoony will be back on air on Sydney's 104.9 Triple M (possibly Melbourne's 105.1 too but not confirmed) reading the news and sharing his views for us again from Jan 18th 2010 and Garfield will be back on Ugly Phil the same date. Odie will be heard on Sea FM 91.9 FM in the arvo shift starting some time in January.
Hope 2010 will be a great time for you all. We'll also finish uploading the 2008 podcasts this year too, was planned for December, but the takedown delayed that, meanwhile 2006/2007 show, ATFS and Editorials should keep you busy.
